FAQ: shed demolition on the South Shore
Do I need a permit to demolish my shed?
For a small garden shed, most South Shore towns require nothing, but some ask for a notice or permit depending on the floor area and whether the structure sits on a slab. Check with your municipality before the date. The permit stays your responsibility as the owner, but we plan the job around what you confirm to us.
Do you also remove the concrete slab or the blocks underneath?
We remove the shed, the anchors, the earth screws and the deck blocks or sonotubes that held it. A poured concrete slab is a separate job: show it in your photo and we assess it with the rest to give you a price that includes breaking up and hauling away the concrete.
The shed is still full of old stuff, do I need to empty it first?
No, we empty it for you. Tools, the mower, tires, boxes, it all comes out and leaves with the debris, counted in the volume. If we find paint, solvents or a propane tank, we set them aside for the hazardous-waste depot instead of tossing them in the trash.
