FAQ: light demolition on the South Shore
Do you only demolish, or do you haul the debris away too?
Both, in the same visit. We demolish the targeted section, then load all the drywall, wood, tile and rubble into the truck. The price includes labour and disposal, so there's no separate bin to rent. When we leave, the room is stripped and swept.
Do I need a permit for light interior demolition?
For non-structural interior demolition (a non-load-bearing wall, a kitchen, a floor), a permit usually isn't required. The moment a load-bearing wall, the structure, or a wall between units is involved, check with your municipality. We don't touch load-bearing walls without confirmation, and we'll tell you if what we see in your photos needs a look from your contractor first.
Will you damage the rest of the room while demolishing?
We work by hand and with power tools, not heavy machinery, so we control where things come down. We protect the floors and surfaces that stay, and we cut cleanly at the edge of what has to go. That's the point of light demolition: removing exactly the right section without wrecking the rest.
