How much does it cost to break and remove a concrete slab?
In two parts. Breaking is the jackhammer labour: confirmed up front from photos, within 2 hours. Loading, hauling and disposal follow the grid by volume, like any other pickup, confirmed at the end on what was actually loaded. For concrete, one trip is 5 cubic yards, half the truck. From photos, we give you the best volume estimate we can.
How thick a slab can you break?
Common residential slabs: 4 to 6 inches, unreinforced or with light mesh, with an electric jackhammer. A thick reinforced garage slab, a foundation or a concrete wall is a job for an excavator, and we tell you so honestly over the phone rather than waste your day.
Do you also remove the gravel and soil underneath?
We remove the slab and the pieces, pick up chips and dust, and leave the ground as is, roughly levelled. We do no excavation or backfill, but if you want us to take the crushed stone or the old pavers around it too, say so with the photos and we include it in the price.
Where does the concrete go afterwards?
To recycling, 100%: the concrete is crushed into aggregate for roads and foundations. That is why we do not take concrete contaminated with oil or chemicals, it could not be recycled.
Can you come the same day?
Often on weekdays in Longueuil, Saint-Hubert, Brossard, Boucherville and Saint-Bruno, otherwise within 24 to 48 hours elsewhere on the South Shore. Breaking is noisy: we plan daytime work and confirm the window ahead.
Does it damage the lawn or the house foundation?
We protect what stays: controlled pieces, a safe distance from the foundation and windows, hand-loading rather than a machine rolling over the grass. Our liability insurance covers damage during the work.
Do you also break a paver patio or a block shed base?
Yes. Paving stones, precast slabs, concrete blocks and the curbs that go with them: we lift, load and leave with it. If a shed is still on top, we can demolish it in the same visit, that is our shed demolition page.
